The Rolex Oyster reference 6082 is a rather unusual reference made by Rolex in the 1950-60s. Its main features are the thin case, in-house hand-wound caliber, super oyster crown and screw-down caseback, radium Arabic numerals and hands.
This reference was an excellent alternative for those looking for an elegant watch with a much thinner case profile than the Rolex "Bubbleback" watches.
An unusual feature of the present Rolex Oyster 6082 is the presence of the inscription "Shock - Resisting" at 6 of the watch to further enhance the resistance of Rolex watches to shocks and impacts, plus it comes with the subsidiary seconds rather than a sweeping second hands.
The reference 6082 is a highly desirable vintage Rolex model that with its 34mm case diameter was quite large for the standards of the 1950s, especially comparing with the earlier Rolex Speedking & Royal. This watch is one of the last series from 1961.
There is another similar one but slightly smaller in size but using a similar movement
