LeCoultre HPG (High Precision Guarantee) 3089 with the Cal 916 from the 1970s, the first alarm watch with a high beat movement and full-action rotor. I used to have one with blue dial but sold it away as I wasn't sure of my watch collecting direction then.
Recently, I have been collecting Jaeger Lecoultre memovox automatic with date and I have decided to form a small collection of the Jaeger Lecoultre Memovox series focusing only on the bigger size Automatic version of the memovox. This is definitely a funky watch from the 1970s and we need to remember that the 1970s were the last good days of the Swiss Watch before the great decline from Mid 1970s till 1980. These were difficult period for Swiss mechanical watches who were facing the challenges from the Japanese quartz watches.
The HPG series comes in Steel and solid 14k gold and there are five dials namely the Champagne with gradient to brown dial, the blue dial, a yellow dial, a silver and a silver plus grey dia;. Of the four, I must say the Champagne with gradient to brown dial is the most unique and attractive.
Yello dial - Blue dial - Silver dial
