This is a special watch for several reasons. Firstly, basing on information from the net that “ROLEX SKYROCKET” was produced for Canadian soldiers going overseas in WW2 and was marketed towards fighter pilots. In short, it is a military pilot watch. Secondly, the watch design is based on the 1920s Cushion watch oyster design. Those made in the 1920s has a subsidiary dial, while the one from 1940s has a sweeping second hand. Thirdly, both the front and back case can be opened by unscrewing the top and bottom making it a "three piece" cushion case design. There is also Rolex Sky Rocket in rounded case. The watch case is made of sterling silver with a screwdown crown.
