Dec 2020 Stock Take

For the year 2020, I have newly acquired several watches and have also traded away some to keep the number manageable through refinement. The final count is 22 watches till December 2020. I must say the two Omega 165024 SM300 was a last minute buy by chance. Originally, I was thinking of trading away my Vintage Orient for another Pilot watch but saw the opportunity to upgrade for an Omega SM which I have regretted selling away in 2014. As there are many Frankenstein watches and fake Omega SM300, I have been very cautious.

The journey is an interesting on as I have tried for example to collect IWC watches, Vacheron and Breguet along the ways but later has decided to stay focus. Moreover, I have also tightened my collection of Omega watches along the way. More importantly, I ahve managed to find the Rolex PRince Jump Hour, the Rolex KErmit, The Tudor Harrods, and Tudor made for Middle East watches.

One interesting trend is that I am finetuning my vintage Omega collections focusing on those with unique pie pan dials with arrowhead markers and trying to limit to Omega Constellation series only. Moreover, I have streamlined away my stainless steel and half gold constellation to keep the collection tight.

The following are the watches that I have decided to sell or trade away in order to focus on the series or theme in my collection. As a collector, we are often face with the dilemma of whether to expand our range or keep the series down. Nevertheless, I have come to realize that it will be impossible to collect everything and it will be better to stay focus.

Omega Seamaster 300 ref 165024

Ever since my return to collecting vintage Omega, I have decided to expand my collection on The Omega Seamaster 300 series. This is an Omega Seamaster 300 ref 165.024 with Cal 550 made for US market from the year 1969. It differs from the earlier one with the Big triangular on the dial and with caliber 552. I shall try to bring the watch back to it’s glory with the search for a NOS dial and set of hands.
